Bio
Runaway Sky is a Fort Worth-rooted harmony duo built around Simone and Taylor, whose partnership began at a Hear Fort Worth Mixer in August 2021. The two introduced themselves to the DFW scene in 2022 and shaped a sound between Sheryl Crow's soulfulness and Kacey Musgraves' storytelling charm, with windswept harmonies and intimate, wide-open songs.
The project has quickly picked up public milestones: features on Good Morning Texas, performances at notable venues, an Americanafest feature, and shared bills with Alexz Johnson, Tim Lightyear, Billy King and the Bad Bad Bad, and Sixpence None The Richer. Their awards trail adds more local and regional texture, with Dallas Entertainment Awards nominations in 2024 and 2025 and 2025 Fort Worth Weekly Awards nominations for Best Country Artist, Best New Band, Best Song, and vocalist categories for both Taylor and Simone. With singles including "Arizona," "Sweet Things," and "Waste My Time," plus "Arizona" named a 2025 International Songwriting Competition semifinalist, Runaway Sky gives Fort Worth a polished country-folk-pop act with real songwriter lift.
